We are currently looking for a talented and dedicated Chef to join our team at Carlton Senior Living. This full-time role provides a competitive salary ranging from $70,304 to $75,000 per year, with a consistent schedule from Sunday through Thursday. As our Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all back-of-house kitchen operations, ensuring that every meal is prepared with the utmost care, quality, and attention to detail. You will have the critical role of planning menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents while also contributing to special activities and events within the community.

This position requires a candidate who is knowledgeable in standard cooking techniques and food safety practices, with the capability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation. You will collaborate with your team to deliver meals that are not only nutritious but also appealing and satisfying for the residents. Furthermore, your ability to communicate effectively and manage kitchen staff will be essential in creating a positive workplace atmosphere that aligns with Carlton's culture of care.

The Chef will also ensure compliance with safety protocols and support emergency plans, including elopement prevention practices. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are key for success in this role, as you will be responsible for inventory management, food rotation, and maintaining cleanliness standards. Job Duties

  • Oversees the daily operations of the back of house
  • plans or participates in planning menus and utilization of food and beverage
  • prepares, presents and delivers all meals including food for activities, memory care programming, sales and special events
  • checks food quality daily by observing food rotation, presentation and taste
  • applies standard cooking techniques
  • manages employees effectively with patience, tact and diplomacy
  • reads and writes reports, correspondence, memos and employee performance evaluations
  • exhibits excellent organizational skills
  • supports safety protocols, emergency plans, and elopement prevention practices
  • fosters a warm, collaborative atmosphere with residents, families, and team members
