Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- relevant culinary experience
- ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
- knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations
- strong organizational and time management skills
- ability to work under pressure
- excellent communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a chef or head cook
- strong leadership skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- culinary school diploma or relevant certification preferred
- experience with menu development and cost control
- excellent communication and team management abilities
Job Duties
- Create menus
- direct the food prep process
- plan & order ingredients and necessary equipment
- arrange for kitchen repairs when needed
- use P&L statements to effectively manage costs and meet budgets
- hire, manage, and train kitchen staff
- oversee kitchen staff, looking for opportunities to counsel or coach
- foster cooperation, collaboration and respect
- have knowledge of and enforce all safety and sanitation requirements
