As the Chef, you will take complete responsibility for every plate that gets served and guide the overall direction of the menu. You’ll be expected to innovate and iterate on the menu to provide creative, quality food options while strategically managing costs to achieve profit goals. Your role will extend beyond just culinary creativity as you will also be responsible for hiring, managing, and coaching kitchen staff to maintain consistency, technique, and skill enhancement within the team. This leadership position requires an individual who excels in managing kitchen operations seamlessly, ensuring all safety and sanitation regulations are rigorously enforced. Your ability to foster cooperation, collaboration, and respect among kitchen staff will be paramount to maintaining a positive and productive work environment. Additionally, you will manage purchasing, oversee food preparation processes, plan for kitchen equipment needs, and coordinate timely repairs to minimize disruptions. The role demands proficiency in analyzing Profit and Loss statements to effectively manage expenses and meet budgetary constraints. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with P&L statements and budgeting
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations

Job Duties

  • As the chef, you’ll take complete responsibility for every plate that gets served and the overall direction of the menu

  • You will be responsible for hiring and supervising the kitchen staff and coaching employees on consistency, technique and skills
  • Create menus
  • Direct the food prep process
  • Plan & order ingredients and necessary equipment
  • Arrange for kitchen repairs when needed
  • Use P&L statements to effectively manage costs and meet budgets
  • Hire, manage, and train kitchen staff
  • Oversee kitchen staff, looking for opportunities to counsel or coach
  • Foster cooperation, collaboration and respect
  • Have knowledge of and enforce all safety and sanitation requirements
