Headquartered in San Francisco, California, NotCo is at the forefront of the plant-based food revolution, developing delicious and sustainable products that prioritize the health of our planet. By leveraging advanced artificial intelligence, embodied by their proprietary AI named Giuseppe, NotCo transforms plant-based ingredients into flavorful, high-quality foods that rival traditional animal-based products. This progressive approach positions NotCo not just as a food company but as a movement committed to reshaping the global food industry with environmentally responsible solutions.

The role of Culinary Chef at NotCo embodies the company's spirit of innovation and creativity, combining hands-on culinary expertise with advanced product development and food science. This position is ideal for culinary professionals passionate about pioneering new food experiences through technology and scientific research. Situated in San Francisco, the role demands a skillful balance of culinary artistry and technical rigor, working closely with culinary, research and development, and product science teams to convert imaginative ideas into scalable, consistent, and technically sound food products.

Culinary Chefs at NotCo are entrusted with the execution of sophisticated research and development projects that explore ingredient functionality, process control, and sensory attributes to produce cutting-edge food solutions. Their work spans from initial concept ideation and formulation design to process parameter definition and rigorous testing, ensuring every product achieves excellence in texture, flavor, and reproducibility. This role requires a deep understanding of pastry and confectionery techniques blended with scientific investigation, fostering an environment where creativity and technical precision coexist.

The ideal candidate will be curious and experimental with a firm grounding in ingredient science and culinary fundamentals, adept at translating creative direction into validated, scalable formulations. They must embrace a proactive, ownership-driven mindset suitable for a fast-paced, dynamic work environment that values collaboration across multifunctional teams worldwide. Traveling up to 50% of the time, including international trips, the Culinary Chef will contribute to NotCo's global innovation initiatives, abiding by a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement.

NotCo offers a competitive pay range between $65,000 and $80,000, contingent on the candidate's unique skills, experience, certifications, and specific location factors. The company is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, promoting diversity and inclusion within its workforce. As an equal opportunity employer, NotCo welcomes applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or disability. Individuals seeking to join a purpose-driven team that champions environmental sustainability and technological progress in food production will find this role fulfilling and impactful.
