As our Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire kitchen operation, managing a team of cooks, aides, and assistants, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation guidelines, and nutritional standards specific to elderly care. This leadership position requires a blend of culinary artistry, operational excellence, and team management skills. In this role, you will develop seasonal menus that balance taste, nutrition, and cost-effectiveness while incorporating fresh and high-quality ingredients. You will also supervise food preparation to ensure consistency, freshness, and presentation, adapting dishes as necessary for therapeutic diets and special resident requests. Job Requirements

  • Culinary arts degree or equivalent certification
  • Minimum 5 years of chef or kitchen leadership experience
  • Experience in healthcare or institutional foodservice preferred
  • Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets
  • Strong food safety and sanitation knowledge
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary arts degree or equivalent certification
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Chef or in a similar leadership role
  • Proven experience in healthcare or institutional kitchen settings preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Creativity in recipe development and menu innovation
  • Proficiency in food safety protocols and dietary software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Preferred experience in skilled nursing or long-term care
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training
  • Knowledge of budget management and cost control strategies

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes adhering to standardized recipes
  • Oversee food preparation to ensure quality, freshness, and presentation
