The role of the Checker is key in maintaining excellent customer service standards while ensuring efficient, accurate transactions at the point of sale. Under the direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for processing sales quickly while safeguarding company assets and adhering to company policies regarding cash handling and register operations. This position requires the ability to interact with customers and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner, promoting a positive shopping environment. The Checker must be able to read and write in English and Spanish to effectively communicate product information, pricing codes, and store correspondence. Physical capability is important for the role, as it involves bending, standing, stooping for prolonged periods, and lifting weights up to 60 pounds on occasion. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, typical of a grocery retail store, requiring employees to efficiently manage multiple tasks while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
