The role of Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is an exciting leadership position within one of St. Louis’ most iconic and historic hotels, situated in the bustling Central West End. This role is more than traditional restaurant management; it combines hands-on leadership with dynamic guest interaction in a fast-paced, versatile dining environment. The hotel showcases a variety of dining experiences and vibrant energy, making the workday engaging and varied. As the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will partner closely with the leadership team to oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and exceptional guest satisfaction. Your leadership will be key in developing and motivating team members to uphold the hotel’s high standards for quality and service.
This role involves active participation on the floor, connecting directly with guests and supporting the team in real-time. It requires someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys mentoring others, and is committed to fostering a positive team culture. Responsibilities include managing food and beverage services across various outlets and events, maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards, and working with the culinary team to stay updated on menus. You will also play a vital role in monitoring guest feedback and implementing improvements to continually elevate the guest experience.
With a focus on operations, team leadership, and administrative support, this role carries a broad scope of duties. You will assist with hiring, training, coaching, and performing ongoing team performance assessments. Leading pre-shift meetings, setting daily priorities, and ensuring compliance with safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards are critical aspects of the position. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, and demonstrate a hands-on, team-first leadership style.

Job Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Food safety and alcohol service certifications as required
Job Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of restaurant supervisory or management experience
- Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, team-first approach
- Ability to stay organized and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Solid communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including cost controls
- Comfort with basic technology and Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to motivate a team and maintain a positive culture
Job Duties
- Support the planning and execution of food and beverage service across outlets and events
- Be present on the floor to ensure smooth operations and step in to resolve guest concerns
- Maintain high standards for cleanliness, presentation, and service execution
- Partner with the chef to stay informed on menus and guide the team accordingly
- Monitor guest feedback and take action to continuously improve the experience
- Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of team members
- Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities clearly
