At Sonesta, the core philosophy centers around the human side of hospitality, offering passionate service, purposeful loyalty, and creating guest experiences that deeply connect on a personal level. Their collective vision, "Together We Thrive," emphasizes delivering quality, value, and exceptional hospitality to every guest and every stay.
The role of Bartender at Sonesta International Hotels embodies this mission by setting the tone for guests’ experiences through what Sonesta calls "Wowing" guests with Amazing Moments. The Bartender is a pivotal figure in welcoming guests, accurately taking orders, and preparing and serving food and beverage items efficiently while maintaining warmth and friendliness. This position requires adherence to quality standards for service, cleanliness, and safety throughout. A bartender in this environment plays a critical role in guest satisfaction by not only preparing drinks to perfection according to recipes but also ensuring the bar is well-stocked and maintained. They manage inventories of liquor and beverages, strictly follow cash handling and credit card procedures, and maintain the bar area’s cleanliness to ensure an inviting atmosphere.
This full-time position demands flexibility, including working variable shifts across days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays with occasional ten to twelve-hour shifts. The work environment is fast-paced and primarily indoors, requiring the ability to cope with extreme temperatures such as in kitchens, freezers, and loading dock areas. Successful candidates should bring previous experience as a bartender, ideally in a high-volume bar setting, complemented by familiarity with computerized cash registers. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
At Sonesta, employees benefit from a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings accounts with company match, a 401(k) retirement plan with match, paid vacation and sick days, hotel discounts, educational assistance, paid parental leave, and various insurance coverages. Applicants are required to submit a complete application along with a resume to be considered.
