The Front Desk Cashier role at Grand Sierra Resort is a vital position that directly influences the guest experience by providing attentive and efficient service from the moment guests arrive until they depart. The position involves a variety of responsibilities such as greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, handling payments, and addressing guest inquiries. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Front Desk Cashiers must uphold the resort's guest service guidelines and policies while working collaboratively with other team members, including management and culinary staff. Flexibility is key for success in this position, as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • previous cashiering experience preferred or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • ability to perform simple reading, math, writing and task completion skills
  • flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours
  • capability to stand constantly, walk frequently, bend occasionally, lift/carry and push/pull up to 10 lbs
  • constant use of vision abilities including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision
  • must deal with guests and team members in a tactful and respectful manner

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cashiering experience is preferred
  • ability to perform simple reading, math, writing and task completion skills
  • skills in coordination, supervising, following instructions, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making
  • must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate

Job Duties

  • Greeting and seat guests by utilizing department greeting and steps of service
  • manage reservations including calling and confirming upcoming reservations
  • manage waitlist by providing accurate wait time estimates
  • address guest inquires
  • receive payment from guests in the form of cash, credit cards, and room charges and comp slips
  • make deposits/cash drops, complete appropriate cashier paperwork/reports, balance and secure bank
  • interact with team members and guests in a professional and polite manner including complaints and concerns are effectively handled
  • communicate special requests with management, service staff, and culinary team
  • assist the support team to turn tables faster by resetting them quickly and efficiently
  • take to-go orders and ensure the orders are packed with the required condiments
  • support and maintain Grand Sierra Resort guest service guidelines and other policies and procedures
  • help maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
  • any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
