Chanticleer Inn Bed & Breakfast is a renowned boutique lodging property located atop the historic Lookout Mountain, offering guests a unique and memorable hospitality experience. The Housekeeper role at Chanticleer Inn is vital for maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation that the inn is famous for. This part-time position is structured with shifts ranging from 6 to 8 hours daily, typically scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, up to five days a week with two days off. Under the guidance of the Chanticleer & Grandview Manager, the housekeeper supports the property’s commitment to guest satisfaction through meticulous attention to detail and consistent adherence to service excellence.

In this role, the housekeeper is responsible for ensuring guest rooms and shared spaces are thoroughly cleaned, well-stocked, and arranged according to Chanticleer Inn’s standards. Responsibilities include replacing linens and towels, cleaning bathrooms and fixtures, dusting and polishing furniture, vacuuming carpets, and managing trash removal. The housekeeper also supports laundry operations by laundering linens and monitoring supplies, ensuring par levels are maintained. Additionally, the position requires proactive communication about maintenance issues and compliance with all company policies and safety procedures.

Job Requirements

  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • previous experience in lodging hospitality or related field preferred training provided as needed

Job Duties

  • deliver excellent guest service to internal and external customers in alignment with company mission culture and values
  • model appropriate guest and partner interaction at all times maintaining a professional and welcoming presence
  • enter guest rooms following established procedures to ensure vacancy and proper access before entry
  • replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms according to standards
  • replace soiled linens and terry with clean items make beds and neatly fold terry
  • clean and stock bathrooms thoroughly including fixtures floors and supplies
  • clean non-guest room areas as assigned
  • remove trash dirty linens and used service items from rooms and work areas
  • dust polish and remove marks from walls furnishings windows and fixtures
  • vacuum carpets and perform floor care duties in guest rooms and designated areas
  • straighten and arrange furniture desk items and appliances
  • check that all appliances and room equipment are present and functioning properly
  • launder linens and other housekeeping items as needed
  • monitor housekeeping and related supply inventory and notify leadership when par levels are low
  • notify the manager of any maintenance issues repairs or guest room concerns requiring attention
  • ensure all company policies procedures and safety standards are followed consistently
  • perform other duties as assigned by management to support lodging operations
