Job Description
Delaware North Sportservice is a respected leader in the hospitality and food service industry, operating concessions, premium dining, and retail services at Comerica Park, the iconic home of the Major League Baseball's Detroit Tigers. With a legacy that dates back to 1930, Delaware North has partnered with the Detroit Tigers for nearly a century, providing exceptional food and beverage experiences to sports fans and guests alike. Known for its dedication to delivering high-quality service, Delaware North offers a unique workplace culture that values both the employees and the guests they serve. The company's operations span globally and include various venues such as sports arenas, national parks, casinos, and more, making it a dynamic and exciting employer for those passionate about hospitality.
Delaware North is currently seeking seasonal Bartenders to join their team at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan. This role is perfect for individuals looking for a fast-paced, rewarding work environment where their contributions are recognized and valued. As a Bartender, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the guest experience by responsibly serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while maintaining excellent customer service standards. The position involves fulfilling drink orders for guests and servers, mixing drinks according to company recipes and standardized proportions, and adhering strictly to alcohol service policies including proper identification checks. The role also requires managing bar stock, processing payments accurately, and completing sales and inventory reports.
This is a tipped position with an hourly wage starting at $12.45, not including potential tip earnings, emphasizing the opportunity for employees to maximize their income based on performance. Delaware North emphasizes its commitment to employee well-being by offering a comprehensive benefits package. Team members benefit from weekly pay, employee discounts, flexible work schedules, and exciting training and development opportunities. Eligible employees may also access health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plans with company match, paid vacation and holidays, paid parental bonding leave, assistance programs, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement.
Ideal candidates are at least 18 years old and have at least one year of front-of-house experience in high-volume bars or restaurants, including experience in cash handling and credit card processing. Prior familiarity with computerized point of sale (POS) systems is essential. This role demands physical stamina, as it involves constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, and ability to lift up to 35 pounds, often in environments with moderate to high noise levels during busy event times. The Bartender position mostly involves working evenings, weekends, and during special events, offering a dynamic and social workplace setting.
Joining Delaware North means becoming part of a global family-owned company with over a century of history, dedicated to creating great experiences in great places. Whether your career interests lie in restaurants, sports venues, gaming, or operations, Delaware North fosters growth and success by providing diverse and exciting career paths. This inclusive employer values diversity and equal opportunity, committed to hiring without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status.
