Job Requirements

  • age 18 or over or have proper work authorization
  • high school diploma or GED
  • prior housekeeping experience preferred
  • background clearances as required by government regulations
  • negative TB test results within last six months or within seven days of employment
  • ability to read write and speak English
  • ability to follow oral and written directions
  • ability to interact effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds
  • physical ability to stand for long periods bend kneel stoop push pull carry cleaning equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds
  • ability to use standard cleaning equipment
  • compliance with PPE and chemical handling protocols
  • willingness to work full time Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4pm
  • adherence to company policies and state and federal regulations related to senior living communities

Job Qualifications

  • basic understanding of safety and hygiene standards

Job Duties

  • clean all resident apartments common areas and offices of the property including furnishings fixtures ledges room heating/cooling units bathroom fixtures floors and carpets walls and ceilings remove dirt dust grease and film from surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions
  • ensure safety signs are properly set up and posted prior to performing duties that could cause safety risks and removed when job is completed
  • report any health safety or sanitation concerns including apartment repairs to supervisor
  • follow cleaning schedules as closely as practical
  • monitor and remove all trash and waste from interior areas to designated trash receptacles
  • keep work areas free of hazardous objects and put away equipment promptly
  • use appropriate safety and protective equipment when handling chemicals and hazardous waste
  • follow PPE policies including wearing gloves masks aprons
  • store and use chemicals disinfectants and cleaning solutions properly and dispose waste accordingly
  • lock and control housekeeping supplies and carts ensuring chemicals are not accessible to residents or visitors
  • comply with policies governing use of labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • promote positive and professional image through actions and dress according to MBK principles and values
  • encourage teamwork through open communication with coworkers and other departments
  • display tact and friendliness when interacting with residents families and guests
  • perform other duties as assigned by director of environmental services director of housekeeping or executive director
  • assist in relocating residents during emergencies
  • dust fluff and straighten furniture in public areas
