The role of the Cook at Temecula Creek Inn is vital in maintaining the high standards the establishment is known for. This full-time position focuses on preparing food for the inn's restaurants, employee meals, banquets, and special functions, ensuring all meals meet hotel standards for quality and quantity. The Cook is responsible for following specified recipes and presentation guidelines, including accommodating special guest requests with precision and care. Working closely with the Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and Executive Chef, the Cook assists in kitchen organization, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. Additionally, the Cook helps train new and existing staff, promoting a cooperative and efficient work environment.

This position requires a detail-oriented and safety-minded individual capable of operating independently while being a strong team player. In addition to food preparation, the Cook is expected to assist in food ordering, station set-up, quality monitoring, temperature logging, and communication between kitchen staff and food servers. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, the Cook helps maintain the cleanliness of coolers, freezers, and work areas, fostering a safe and hygienic kitchen environment. The role demands physical stamina as it involves standing, walking, lifting, and operating equipment for long periods. Job Duties

  • prepare food for restaurants, employee meals, banquets, and special functions
  • follow all specifications to properly and efficiently prepare and present all food items
  • assist the sous chef, executive sous chef, and executive chef in kitchen organization
  • assist in directing and correcting the presentation and portioning of food according to standards
  • provide training to new and existing staff
  • communicate with executive chef, executive sous chef, sous chef and kitchen supervisor regarding problems, special needs or feedback
  • assist in monthly inventory procedures
  • prepare food in accordance with menus, recipe cards and photos
  • rotate food in coolers and freezers to minimize waste
  • maintain cleanliness of coolers and freezers according to health department standards
  • assist to order food supplies
  • set up hot or cold line stations properly
  • coordinate food orders between stations and food servers
  • communicate guest requests timely and professionally
  • monitor quality and consistency of food served
  • ensure temperature logs and prep lists are up to date
  • promote and comply with all policies and procedures
  • report suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions immediately
  • maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas
  • practice safe work habits to avoid injury
  • ensure compliance with company and safety rules
  • attend all mandatory meetings
  • perform other tasks including cross-training as directed
