Individuals hired for this position will work directly under the franchisee, who manages staffing, training, scheduling, discipline, and other employment matters. McDonald’s USA is not involved in these decisions nor does it receive copies of employment applications. Key responsibilities involve managing food safety procedures, internal communications, inventory oversight, daily maintenance and cleanliness checks, scheduling personnel, and ensuring security and safety protocols are followed meticulously. Shift Managers play a critical role in planning shifts, monitoring performance metrics, and taking corrective actions when necessary to meet restaurant goals and deliver a stellar customer experience.

In addition to leadership duties during each shift, the Shift Certified Manager also acts as a liaison between shifts to ensure continuity of operations and prepare incoming managers for success.
