Job Description

Velocity MSC is a leading technology solutions and services company founded in 2005, dedicated to providing customized voice and data network solutions and support services that enhance the way multi-location enterprises communicate and conduct business. With a workforce of over 500 employees, 13 redundant data centers, 450 carrier agreements, and 5,500 certified technicians located across the United States, Velocity MSC has established itself as an unstoppable force in the technology and telecommunications industries. The company is proud to serve thousands of Fortune 500 companies across a diverse range of sectors, leveraging its customer-obsessed approach to deliver exceptional service, innovative solutions, and superior customer experiences. Velocity MSC is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where all team members are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work, collaborate effectively, and contribute unique perspectives and experiences that strengthen connections within the team, customers, and community. The company lives by core values that emphasize being customer-obsessed, operating as one team, doing the right thing, and maintaining a forward-thinking, proactive attitude.

The role of Certified Printer Field Technician at Velocity MSC represents a critical position that combines hands-on technical expertise in printer service and repair with the demands of field installations and customer support. This position is based locally but requires a high level of mobility and flexibility, with an expectation of 95 percent travel by car, plane, or other means to various customer and retail partner locations throughout the technician's assigned region. The technician will be deployed to diagnose, repair, install, and maintain an array of printing devices, including wide format printers, stationery printers, dry inkjet minilabs, simplex printers, dye-sublimation equipment, kiosks, controllers, and other related photo center technologies. Beyond printer service, the role involves supporting telecommunications and equipment infrastructure installations, ensuring that job sites meet both company and customer standards. Working under the supervision of the Field Operations Supervisor, the technician is expected to demonstrate independence in managing field assignments, excellence in troubleshooting under pressure, and professional skills in communication and customer interaction.

Ideal candidates for this role possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and have at least two years of experience in printer service and repair, including color-accurate technologies like inkjet and dye-sublimation printers. The role also requires experience in field services or related technical installation work. The technician must have strong troubleshooting and critical thinking abilities, be capable of multi-tasking and working both independently and as part of a team. Physical demands include frequent lifting of equipment up to 60 pounds, safe navigation of uneven terrain, climbing ladders, working at elevated heights, and maintaining hand-eye coordination for intricate tasks. Given the role's travel and scheduling demands, flexibility for night and weekend work is important.

Velocity MSC offers a collaborative and energetic work environment that emphasizes company pride and mutual success. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off and holidays, a 401K plan with employer matching, company-provided life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, and options for supplemental benefits. The company’s dedication to equal opportunity is reflected in its hiring practices, ensuring all qualified applicants receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or genetic information. Velocity's commitment to verification through E-Verify further underscores its integrity in employment.
