The Certified Peer Support Specialist role at Comprehensive Life Resources is a vital position within the Homeless Outreach team, designed to engage clients through shared lived experiences to promote recovery and self-advocacy. This full-time position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, offers competitive pay ranging from $21.75 to $29.67 per hour. The role involves providing hands-on support that enables clients to develop essential life skills, access healthcare and community resources, and maintain wellness goals. The specialist works closely within multidisciplinary teams, contributing their unique experiential knowledge to facilitate symptom management, social connection, and community integration for individuals navigating behavioral health conditions. Key responsibilities also include transporting clients when necessary, attending team meetings, and continuously participating in professional development and supervision to uphold ethical and effective peer support practices. By leveraging personal recovery stories and peer support techniques such as Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP) and Illness Management and Recovery (IMR), the Peer Support Specialist fosters hope and resilience among clients, playing an integral role in their journey to recovery and autonomy.

Job Requirements
- Valid WA state Certified Peer Specialist credential or eligibility to obtain credential
- Experience in behavioral health peer support preferred
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with clients and team members
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and supervision
Job Qualifications
- WA State credential or ability to become credentialed
- Proficiency in common Microsoft applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality
- Active current credential as a Certified Peer Specialist per WA DOH
- Must have valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and working vehicle
Job Duties
- Assist clients in skill building to promote recovery, self-direction, self-advocacy
- Facilitate wellness management and recovery strategies such as IMR and WRAP
- Promote and model recovery principles and values within and as a member of multidisciplinary client support team
- Provide information and support about skills related to health, wellness, and recovery
- Educate clients about daily living skills, self-advocacy skills, healthcare and other systems navigation
- Connect clients to community resources and natural supports
- Identify strengths and assets, and set goals led by the person receiving the Peer’s support
- Promote hope through sharing of lived experience
- Role model ongoing recovery and wellness management
- Attend and facilitate treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and designated staff training and consultation sessions as assigned
- Ensure ethical and professional standards of practice
- Actively participate in peer supervision and training for continued professional growth
