Within this prestigious medical environment, Banner University Medical Center is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant (CNA) to join the Surgical Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The PCU is a specialized department focused on delivering high-quality cardiac care, essential for patients who require close monitoring but do not need intensive care unit (ICU) level services. Working in the PCU offers invaluable hands-on experience with cardiac patients, preparing the nursing assistant for advanced roles in critical care areas such as ICUs, emergency departments, and operating rooms. This position is a full-time, day-shift role (7 am to 7:30 pm) with required weekend rotations, offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus to licensed CNAs/LNAs, plus additional shift differential pay for weekends and nights.

The role of the Patient Care Assistant is pivotal in supporting nursing staff and enhancing patient comfort by providing routine care. Duties include assistance with activities of daily living such as hygiene, mobility, and nutrition, as well as collecting patient data like vital signs and fluid balance. The assistant is responsible for accurately documenting patient data and maintaining thorough medical records to contribute meaningfully to the patient care plan. The position requires a keen eye for health status changes and the ability to communicate promptly with licensed professionals.
