Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Current CNA license in state of practice required for new hires and transfers
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum one year medical clerical experience or prior customer service experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Computer literacy including keyboarding skills
- Ability to perform and document vital signs and delegated tasks accurately
- Reliable communication skills
- 12 month commitment required for sign-on bonus
- Compliance with fingerprint clearance card requirements for behavioral healthcare settings if applicable
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience in medical clerical or hospital/physician office setting preferred
- Effective human relations and communication skills
- Ability to perform or learn basic procedures such as EKG or EEG monitoring
- Successful completion of electrocardiogram or electroencephalographic interpretation course or on-the-job training preferred
- Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) license preferred in Arizona
- Recent healthcare experience preferred
- Completion of unit secretary program preferred
Job Duties
- Provide assistance in daily living activities and promote patient health including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
- Collect patient specimens and data such as vital signs and input/output measurements and document accurately
- Recognize and report abnormalities or changes in patient health status to licensed professionals
- Perform delegated procedures like blood draws, Foley catheter removals, EKGs, and assist medical staff with unit-specific procedures
- Perform receptionist and clerical duties to maintain operational efficiency and support communication
- Maintain complete patient records including admission, transfer, discharge information, and physician orders
- Ensure adequate inventory of medical and office supplies and monitor electronic equipment usage
- Assist in patient transport, including pre-operative and post-operative transfers, and participate in OR turnover
- Work under supervision focusing on customer service in a fast-paced environment
