The role of Certified Patient Care Assistant (CNA)/Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) Float Pool Unit is a vital position within this esteemed facility. This position offers both full-time and part-time day shifts, typically from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with weekend rotations required and differentiated pay for weekend and night shifts. Certified CNAs and LNAs with at least one year of clinical experience are encouraged to apply, especially those who are resilient, knowledgeable, and thrive in fast-paced healthcare settings.

As a CNA/LNA in the Float Pool Unit, you will have the unique opportunity to work across multiple units within Banner University Medical Center, including but not limited to Trauma Surgical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Neuro ICU, Medical-Surgical ICU, Neuro Trauma PCU, Cardiovascular PCU, Medical-Surgical units, Outpatient Observation Unit, PACU, Emergency Department, Women and Infant Services, Rehab, and Behavioral Health. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care focused on comfort, hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs while collaborating closely with nursing staff to support the overall patient care plan. Responsibilities include patient data collection such as vital signs and input/output measurements, specimen transport, and performing delegated procedures like blood draws and EKG monitoring under licensed supervision. Exceptional communication skills are crucial, as you will report crucial patient status changes and contribute to maintaining accurate patient records.

The position requires strong organizational abilities, proficiency in medical terminology, and computer literacy to manage documentation and support operational functions efficiently. You will also assist in unit logistics, such as supply management and clerical duties, ensuring smooth workflow within busy medical units. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure in state of practice
  • Minimum one year of medical clerical or clinical experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Computer literacy
  • Passing score on ECG or EEG test or equivalent training as required
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card if working in Behavioral Health or Home Care AZ
  • Ability to work weekend rotations
  • Resilience and ability to work in fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure in state of practice
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Computer literate with keyboarding skills
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Successful completion of basic ECG or EEG interpretation course or training preferred
  • Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure preferred in Arizona
  • Recent healthcare experience preferred
  • Completion of approved unit secretary program preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide assistance in activities of daily living including hygiene, mobility, and nutritional intake
  • Collect patient specimens and data such as vital signs and document routine aspects of patient care
  • Recognize and report abnormalities or changes in patient health status to licensed professionals
  • Perform delegated procedures such as blood draws, Foley catheter removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring
  • Provide supplies, support, and assistance for unit-specific procedures under supervision
  • Perform receptionist and clerical duties to support department efficiency
  • Maintain complete patient records including admission, transfer, discharge information, and ensure proper documentation
