Job Description
Roper St. Francis Healthcare is a leading healthcare provider widely recognized for its commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. As a comprehensive healthcare organization based in South Carolina, Roper St. Francis Healthcare operates numerous medical facilities including hospitals, outpatient centers, and specialty clinics. With an emphasis on innovation, compassionate service, and clinical excellence, the organization serves diverse patient populations throughout the region. The healthcare system’s dedication to fostering meaningful relationships with patients is reflected in its operational philosophy and patient care models, such as its concierge practice approach. This model limits the patient base to a maximum of 450 individuals per practice to allow for personalized, attentive, and unhurried medical care. Staff are able to spend in-depth time with each patient, averaging around 10 patients seen per day, which supports comprehensive consultations and tailored treatment plans.
The role offered is that of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Medical Assistant Certified at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, currently located at the Kiawah office in South Carolina with an anticipated move to Mt. Pleasant in April 2026. The LPN role is essential in delivering direct patient care under the supervision of licensed professionals like physicians or nurse practitioners. This position coordinates patient care using the nursing process which includes data collection, assessment, prioritization, and evaluating outcomes. The LPN serves as an educator for patients, families, and staff, ensuring clear communication and understanding. Medication administration, clinical documentation, and care coordination with healthcare team members are core responsibilities. Lead LPNs act as clinical mentors and subject matter experts, providing guidance within the practice.
Additionally, the Medical Assistant Certified role supports both clinical and administrative functions that facilitate patient care. Responsibilities range from recording vital signs and medical history to preparing patients for examination and assisting in virtual health visits. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as EPIC is preferred. The role requires managing communication channels, scheduling tests, administering medications within scope, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment. These duties ensure smooth operational flow and high standards of patient care.
Working at Roper St. Francis Healthcare offers employees a mission-driven environment committed to well-being and professional growth. The organization supports a balanced work schedule with every other Friday as a half-day shift, which promotes work-life balance. Employees benefit from competitive pay, referral bonuses, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions. The benefits package includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, mental health resources, paid time off, parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, as well as tuition assistance and opportunities for continuing education and professional development.
Joining Roper St. Francis Healthcare means joining an inclusive workplace that values diversity and equal opportunity. The policy strictly prohibits discrimination on any protected basis and encourages accommodation for individuals with disabilities during the recruitment and employment process. This role is ideal for individuals looking to work in a reputable healthcare system that prioritizes patient-focused care, collaboration, professional development, and employee well-being.
