As a CMA, you will perform both administrative and clinical duties that support the medical staff and ensure smooth clinic operations. This role involves answering phones, greeting and scheduling patients, managing records, handling insurance documents, and arranging laboratory and hospital services. Clinically, CMAs assist medical and nursing staff by taking medical histories, recording vital signs, preparing patients for exams and procedures, collecting laboratory specimens, performing basic lab tests, sterilizing instruments, and administering medications as directed by physicians.
Working as a CMA at Duke Raleigh Hospital means engaging directly with patients, educating them about treatments and care plans, and providing compassionate support throughout their healthcare journey. The role requires effective communication, adherence to hygiene and safety standards, and the ability to manage various clinical and administrative tasks efficiently. Certification by recognized bodies such as AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA, along with BLS certification, are required qualifications.

Duke is committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of age, gender, race, or other personal characteristics. The organization also supports collaboration, innovation, and creativity to achieve the best outcomes for patients and staff alike.
