Known for its commitment to excellence and customer-centric approach, Crestline Hotels & Resorts oversees a diverse portfolio of properties, ensuring high standards of service, operational efficiency, and financial performance. The company fosters an inclusive and dynamic work environment, emphasizing professional growth, adherence to industry standards, and innovative management practices. As an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer, Crestline Hotels & Resorts values diversity and ensures that all qualified candidates receive fair consideration regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability status.
The role of Centralized Controller at Crestline Hotels & Resorts is a critical leadership position within the company’s centralized accounting department. This hybrid role, based out of the regional office in Virginia Beach, VA, involves managing a team of Property Accountants responsible for providing accounting support to approximately 15-18 select service and extended stay hotels. The Centralized Controller will report directly to the Director of Centralized Accounting and will be instrumental in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across the portfolio of hotels.
Key responsibilities include training and supervising the accounting team, ensuring compliance with Crestline’s standard operating policies, internal and external audit requirements, and financial reporting standards. The controller will oversee revenue and expense recording, bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and financial data analysis, providing management with actionable insights to meet financial objectives. In addition, this role includes enforcing regulatory compliance for licenses, contracts, and taxes while establishing and continually auditing internal financial controls related to purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, assets, and payroll. The Centralized Controller will also collaborate closely with hotel general managers, senior management, directors, and external stakeholders to uphold Crestline's commitment to excellence and fiduciary responsibility.
This position requires a strong understanding of GAAP, hospitality accounting standards, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, strong computer proficiency especially with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and working knowledge of various hotel information systems. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying process improvements and implementing cost-effective solutions to enhance operational productivity. With a blend of supervisory duties and hands-on financial oversight, this position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced accounting professionals to lead within a reputable hospitality management company and contribute to its continued success and growth.
