Job Requirements
- 1-3 years of related experience in selling and/or customer service
- basic food knowledge
- knowledge of pairings and flavor profiles or willingness to learn
- interest and ability in food preparation and cooking methods
- food safety certification preferred
- ability to attend vendor training classes
- ability to complete annual food knowledge review
- ability to calculate weights, discounts, percentages and volume
- ability to lift loads up to 50 lbs individually and heavier when team-lifting
- ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, squat
- ability to stand and walk for long periods
- ability to push and pull loads up to 75 lbs
- ability to work in fast-paced, moderate noise environment occasionally exposed to cleaning chemicals and confined spaces
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Assist the customer anywhere in the store with moderate to broad food knowledge
- promote sales through moderate to broad ingredient, food preparation, recipe and product knowledge
- set up and man demo or sample stations anywhere in the store
- procure product and track usage for assigned demo stations
- track and record ROI of manned stations
- face shelves and keep department clean during downtime
- maintain sampling stations
- provide superior, proactive customer service
- use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales
- educate customers in recipe suggestions, preparation methods and cooking techniques for demo products
- assist customers in physical need of assistance
- answer customer questions about products and explain merits to influence purchases
- explore current food trends through various sources
- exhibit varied interest and knowledge in cooking including ingredients and preparation methods
- maintain food safety standards and sanitation in the department
