As a part-time Food Delivery Driver at Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, you will play a critical role in fulfilling this mission. This position involves not only the delivery of meals but also ensuring the accuracy, safety, and quality of the food transported. Scheduled for 55 hours biweekly with morning shifts Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the role offers a structured schedule that allows for part-time employment with consistent hours. You will be responsible for reading packing slips to verify meal counts, organizing and loading vehicles in a way that maintains proper temperatures, and delivering food to various locations on established routes. Accurate delivery processes, including the use of a mobile meals app for home deliveries, are essential aspects of the job.

In addition to core meal delivery duties, this role requires excellent communication skills to relay messages between the kitchen and distribution sites and report any changes in client conditions. The driver also manages the return of empty food containers, ensuring they are clean and maintained, and performs routine vehicle maintenance to keep the assigned van in good working order. Adhering to Maryland state road safety standards is crucial, as is maintaining a clean driving and client complaint record.
