Their dedication to excellence and environmental stewardship has solidified their reputation globally as a dependable green energy provider, paving the way for a cleaner energy future worldwide.
This position as a Cement Laboratory Technician is critical to Ormat’s operational success, focused on executing oilfield-standard cement slurry preparations and tests adhering strictly to API standards. The role involves a combination of laboratory responsibilities and field-related tasks to ensure the quality and reliability of cementing fluids used in geothermal drilling operations. The technician will maintain meticulous records and logs of testing results in databases and communicate findings promptly to field engineers and operations teams, ensuring optimal decision-making and operational efficiency. A significant aspect of this role includes managing lab inventories, conducting preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment, and enforcing laboratory safety and cleanliness standards. This is a dynamic position that also requires participation in quality improvement meetings, mentoring junior personnel, and assisting with the implementation of new products and technologies developed by Ormat’s Research and Technology division.
The role demands a commitment to environmental safety practices, including managing spill control plans, waste disposal, and compliance with regional and local regulations. The candidate must exhibit technical expertise in advanced additive selection and fluid design and demonstrate the ability to effectively operate and calibrate laboratory equipment. Physical requirements include the ability to lift heavy weights and work in various challenging conditions such as elevated platforms and confined spaces. Flexibility with work hours, including potential weekends, holidays, and overtime, as well as domestic and international travel, is necessary.
