The role of Celebrations Coordinator at Provincial Senior Living is a vital position centered on enhancing resident life through thoughtful planning, scheduling, and conducting community activities and special events. The Celebrations Coordinator assists in developing resident services that promote physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being. They play a key role in encouraging resident participation and engagement while managing a comprehensive activities program that relies on collaboration with team members and volunteers. This role requires someone who can coordinate all facets of community events from inception through completion, including setup and breakdown. The Celebrations Coordinator also takes charge of holiday decorations and works closely with other departments to ensure all supplies and equipment are readily available. They are tasked with facilitating appropriate activities that cater to both assisted living and memory care residents, ensuring a meaningful experience for all participants. Maintaining activity areas, managing activity supplies, preparing event calendars, distributing newsletters, introducing new residents to the program, and assisting with wellness program leadership are also part of this multifaceted role. The coordinator organizes and supervises volunteer staff and engages resident groups through presentations and special interest topics. Accurate record-keeping and reporting on resident activities and satisfaction are critical components to measure the program's success. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or equivalent preferred
- One to three years experience in assisted living, long term care or related field preferred
- Ability to plan, coordinate and conduct programs and events
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and volunteers
- Comfortable working with seniors including those in memory care
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively
- Basic computer skills for maintaining records and reports
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred
- One to three years experience preferred in assisted living, long term care or experience/exposure to the senior population
Job Duties
- Assists in planning, scheduling and conducting programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for the residents
- Assists, invites and encourages residents to participate in activities
- Assesses, plans and manages facilitation of a comprehensive activities program utilizing team members and volunteers
- Attends all community planned functions and coordinates event from beginning to end including set-up, running, and breaking down for the event
- Helps plan appropriate programs for holidays and special events
- Coordinates holiday decorations for the community
- Coordinates with other departments to ensure that all equipment and supplies are available for activities and special events
- Plans, coordinates and facilitates appropriate mixed group (assisted living and Memory Care) activities
- Facilitates regularly scheduled and specialized activities (in the Memory Care program)
- Maintains activity areas in an orderly manner
- Assists in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs and craft services
- As applicable, responsible for daily care of any animals and/or plants within the activities program and services
- Prepares and organizes a calendar of events. Submits the calendar to the Executive Director for final approval. Posts and distributes the calendar
- Distributes community newsletter
- Meets with new residents to introduce the program
- Assists Director in leadership of wellness program
- Organizes and supervises a volunteer staff
- Addresses resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest
- Maintains a database and prepares reports on resident assessments, participation and satisfaction
- Other duties as assigned
