The CEI Inspector role within RS&H's Transportation-Construction Management (T-CM) practice offers a dynamic opportunity for professionals experienced in overseeing construction activities on-site. As a CEI Inspector, the successful candidate will play a critical role in monitoring contractors' daily operations and inspecting materials to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and contractual documents. The individual will maintain detailed records regarding manpower, equipment, construction methods, and site activities that impact the work. Additionally, responsibilities include ensuring the work zone traffic control plan and erosion control plan are followed correctly and addressing any discrepancies or potential issues. The inspector will perform sampling and testing of construction materials and completed works, verify dimensions to ensure alignment with project requirements, conduct field tests, measure completed work quantities to facilitate accurate payments, and perform necessary survey checks.

Ideal candidates for this position will bring strong communication skills, an enthusiastic and motivated attitude, team player mentality, and a reputation for honesty and dependability. This role requires physical ability to frequently sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop under various outdoor conditions plus the capability to lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is mandatory. Moreover, the successful candidate will be expected to obtain required certifications and pass qualification tests within designated time frames. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, possessing EIT, SCDOT, and OSHA 10 certifications.
