Job Description
Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is a leading event marketing agency specializing in providing in-house event marketing services primarily to Costco, one of the largest retailers in North America. CDS focuses on delivering top-tier person-to-person marketing solutions that drive sales and enhance product visibility through live product demonstrations within club stores. The company prides itself on maintaining high standards of service, operational excellence, and robust relationships with both vendors and retail partners. CDS operates within a dynamic and fast-paced environment that demands creativity, strong communication, and exceptional leadership capabilities from its team members.
The role of Event Manager at CDS is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and comes with a range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off. The schedule is typically set from Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, though it may vary based on business needs. This position emphasizes a work-life balance while supporting professional growth and development in the event marketing sector.
As an Event Manager, you will take on the critical responsibility of recruiting, hiring, and supervising in-store Product Demonstrators. Your role will include overseeing the preparation and presentation of products, ensuring all demonstrations meet company standards for quality and safety, particularly with regard to food safety and sanitation. Additionally, training the demonstration staff to deliver excellent customer service is a key part of your responsibilities. You will also act as a communication hub between warehouse managers, vendors, and the demonstrators, fostering teamwork and seamless coordination.
Beyond day-to-day supervision, this role plays a strategic part in participating in the grand openings of new store locations, collaborating with district managers to evaluate event performance metrics such as sales, labor hours, and operational costs. Your leadership will drive the achievement of revenue targets and the continual improvement of customer satisfaction and loyalty through optimized operations.
CDS emphasizes a strong corporate governance framework and operational protocols to maintain high standards across all its events and marketing activities. The Event Manager is expected to support these frameworks by embodying company policies and ensuring compliance throughout their teams. This role requires a proactive leader who can independently manage priorities, coach and develop staff, and adapt swiftly to changes in the retail environment.
Joining CDS as an Event Manager means becoming part of a company committed to bridging the gap between product manufacturers and retail customers, providing consumers access to the best products available today. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with the consumer marketplace, enhance brand visibility, and influence purchasing behavior through impactful event marketing strategies. The company fosters an inclusive and equal opportunity work environment, ensuring accommodations for disabilities and adherence to legal employment standards, making it a supportive place for career advancement.
