Job Description
Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is a leading marketing and sales agency specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management, and marketing services. The company is known for bridging the gap between manufacturers and retailers, primarily focusing on food products and consumer packaged goods. CDS is recognized as the preferred in-house event marketing provider to Costco, delivering top-tier person-to-person marketing services that drive sales for both their customers and Costco. CDS operates across various trade channels, including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. The company prides itself on providing superior service, fostering customer loyalty, and promoting products effectively within retail environments.
The Event Manager role at CDS is a full-time position responsible for recruiting, hiring, and supervising in-store Product Demonstrators. The role requires overseeing product preparation, presentation, and training to ensure excellent service for all Club members. This includes managing food safety and sanitation protocols and facilitating clear communication between warehouse managers, vendors, and demonstrators. The position often involves participating in new store grand openings, contributing to sales activation, and event success. The work schedule typically runs Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with some variation based on business needs.
In this role, the Event Manager leads a team of Product Demonstrators, ensuring proper training and coaching to maintain high standards in product demonstration and customer engagement. They are responsible for directing all event activities, promoting vendor products successfully, and optimizing operational efficiency. The Event Manager works closely with the District Manager to evaluate event performance metrics such as sales, labor hours, and operational costs, making necessary adjustments to meet revenue and net income objectives. The role demands excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
CDS offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off, supporting employees in achieving a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, the company emphasizes professional growth and development, providing opportunities to build relationships and grow within a reputable and supportive organization. The position requires a minimum of two to four years of related experience in retail, hospitality, or food service environments, and a high school education or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree or equivalent experience, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related fields considered an asset. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to advance their career in event management and product marketing within a dynamic, customer-focused company.
