Job Description
Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is a leading event marketing agency specializing in providing in-store product demonstration services. CDS is the preferred in-house event marketing provider to Costco, offering person-to-person marketing solutions that drive sales for both their customers and Costco. The company operates across North America, supporting various trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. CDS bridges the gap between manufacturers and retailers by delivering superior product experiences to consumers through well-organized, professional demonstrations and promotions.
CDS is currently seeking a full-time Event Manager to recruit, hire, and supervise in-store Product Demonstrators. This role is critical in ensuring the effective preparation, presentation, and promotion of products to enhance member engagement and drive sales. The Event Manager will work closely with warehouse managers, vendors, and product demonstrators, maintaining strong communication and operational excellence. Participation in new location grand openings is also a key responsibility, providing an exciting opportunity to be part of growth initiatives.
This full-time role offers a consistent Tuesday through Saturday schedule, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with some variability based on business needs. CDS supports a healthy work-life balance and offers competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off.
The Event Manager must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills to successfully train and lead a team of part-time staff. Responsibilities include ensuring food safety and sanitation during product preparation, maintaining excellent customer service standards, and collaborating with internal teams to evaluate event performance metrics. The role requires an individual who can exercise independent judgment, coach and counsel employees effectively, and adapt quickly to the fast-paced retail environment.
Candidates are expected to possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with two to four years of experience in retail, hospitality, or food service environments. An Associate's degree or equivalent is required, with a preference for a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Candidates should have three to five years of experience preferably in branded consumer-packaged goods or a combination of supplier-side and client-side roles. The position demands proficiency in leadership and communication, the ability to work independently, and strong computer skills across Microsoft Office applications.
Physical requirements of the job include the ability to engage in considerable physical activity such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, cooking and handling food products safely, and working in refrigerated or freezer environments when necessary. Travel and driving are also integral aspects of the role. The company mandates a NEHA Professional Food Handler Certification to meet health and safety standards.
CDS embraces diversity and equal opportunity, providing reasonable accommodations for applicants or employees with disabilities. The company values a commitment to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and employee development. This opportunity offers a dynamic career path for professionals passionate about event marketing and consumer engagement within a prominent industry leader.
