Job Description
Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is a leading sales and marketing agency in North America specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management, and marketing services. The company works with manufacturers, suppliers, and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods, servicing a diverse range of trade channels, including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. CDS serves as the preferred in-house event marketing provider to Costco, delivering top-quality person-to-person marketing services that drive sales for both customers and Costco. The company's mission is to bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers while providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today. With a strong commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, CDS continuously evolves to meet the dynamic needs of the retail environment.
The company is currently seeking a dedicated full-time Event Manager for Product Demonstration to join their team. This role focuses on recruiting, hiring, and supervising in-store Product Demonstrators who are essential to ensuring successful product demonstrations and exceptional service for club members. The Event Manager is responsible for overseeing product preparation and presentation, including adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. Additionally, the position involves providing comprehensive training to Product Demonstrators, ensuring their readiness to perform demonstrations effectively and deliver excellent customer service. Communication is a key component of this role, requiring coordination between warehouse managers, vendors, and product demonstrators. The Event Manager will also take part in grand openings of new store locations when necessary. This role is structured with a set schedule typically from Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, though hours may vary based on operational needs.
This opportunity offers a competitive full-time benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off. The Event Manager is expected to lead their team in delivering high-impact marketing events that drive revenue and customer loyalty through strategic planning and execution. Working independently with minimal supervision, the manager will collaborate closely with the District Manager to evaluate event performance metrics such as sales numbers, labor hours, and operational costs, making necessary adjustments to optimize results. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent leadership and communication skills, and demonstrate a strong ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment. Additional qualifications include a NEHA Professional Food Handler Certification, reflecting the importance of food safety in product demonstrations. In summary, this role is critical in helping CDS maintain its industry-leading standards and strong partnerships, providing growth opportunities for both the company and its employees.
