Job Description
Club Demonstration Services (CDS) stands as North America’s premier sales and marketing agency specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management, and marketing services. CDS primarily serves manufacturers, suppliers, and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. Their extensive reach spans multiple trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. With a clear focus on bridging the gap between manufacturers and retailers, CDS ensures consumers have access to the best products available in the marketplace today. As the preferred in-house event marketing provider to Costco, CDS prides itself on delivering best-in-class person-to-person marketing services that effectively drive sales for both customers and Costco. The company is committed to growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence, making it a leader in the event marketing industry.
The Event Manager role at CDS is a full-time position aimed at overseeing the recruitment, hiring, and supervision of in-store Product Demonstrators. The individual in this role is responsible for managing product preparation and presentation, guaranteeing compliance with food safety and sanitation standards while delivering superior service to all Club members. This position plays a critical role in communication and coordination among warehouse managers, vendors, and Product Demonstrators to foster smooth event operations. Additionally, the Event Manager actively participates in grand openings of new store locations, ensuring events are flawlessly executed and align with company and client expectations. The role operates on a fixed schedule, typically Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, offering balance between work and personal life.
This position requires not only strong leadership abilities but also excellent communication and organizational skills. The Event Manager must effectively recruit and train part-time staff to maintain a high level of performance and adherence to company standards. By driving event and product demonstration success, the individual contributes significantly to sales activation, operational efficiency, and customer loyalty. Additionally, this role is integral in supporting the maintenance of corporate governance frameworks, policies, and procedures. Coordination with the District Manager to evaluate event metrics and make necessary adjustments is also a key responsibility, ensuring the events meet revenue, net income, and customer satisfaction goals.
CDS offers an attractive benefits package including full medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off. This comprehensive package reflects CDS's commitment to employee well-being and career development. The company fosters a supportive work environment where team members can thrive and develop professionally, all while making a direct impact on clients’ sales success. As such, the Event Manager position is ideal for motivated individuals who possess a mix of strategic, operational, and interpersonal skills and who are passionate about delivering exceptional event marketing experiences.
