Job Description

Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is a renowned leader in the sales and marketing sector, specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management, and marketing services primarily for manufacturers, suppliers, and producers within the food products and consumer packaged goods industries. CDS operates extensively across North America, servicing a diverse range of trade channels that include grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. As the preferred in-house event marketing provider for Costco, CDS is dedicated to delivering unparalleled person-to-person marketing services that drive sales and enhance customer experiences in-store. Their commitment to excellence and innovation situates them at the forefront of the marketing and sales industry, bridging the important gap between manufacturers and retailers while ensuring consumers gain access to the highest-quality products available today.

The role of Event Manager at CDS is a full-time position focused on leading the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of in-store Product Demonstrators. This role demands a strong leader who can skillfully manage product preparation and presentation standards, including strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols. The Event Manager is pivotal in delivering exceptional service to all Club members, coordinating closely with warehouse managers, vendors, and demonstrators to facilitate smooth operations. A significant part of the role also involves active participation in new location grand openings, highlighting the importance of adaptability and engagement in expanding CDS's reach.

Key responsibilities include directing all event-related activities to ensure successful promotions and sales of vendor products. This includes strategizing and communicating key sales and service tactics, supporting corporate governance policies, and collaborating with district management to evaluate event performance metrics such as execution rates, sales figures, labor hours, and operational costs. The Event Manager is tasked with achieving set revenue goals and optimizing customer satisfaction by improving operational efficiency.

This position requires a high level of independence, exceptional leadership capabilities, and superior communication skills. The Event Manager will be responsible for hiring, developing, training, coaching, and guiding a team of part-time employees, ensuring they deliver consistent, high-quality presentations and customer service. With the physical demands of the job including spending extensive time on their feet, occasional lifting of products up to 50 pounds, and working in various store environments including refrigerated and freezer sections, this role is suited for an individual who is both physically fit and highly motivated to work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.

CDS offers a well-structured work schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, typically from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, though this may vary based on business needs. Employees benefit from a comprehensive package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off. CDS emphasizes work-life balance and fosters a supportive environment for career growth within the marketing and sales domain. This opportunity offers an exciting career path for professionals with relevant experience in retail, hospitality, or food environments who have a passion for leadership and delivering outstanding service.
