The role of Event Manager at CDS is a full-time position responsible for recruiting, hiring, supervising, and training part-time Product Demonstrators who conduct in-store product presentations primarily for Costco members. This managerial role oversees the preparation and presentation of products, ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are met. The Event Manager also plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, managing communications between warehouse managers, vendors, and demonstrators, and actively participates in grand opening events for new retail locations. The responsibilities are comprehensive, focusing on executing successful product demonstrations that drive sales, maintain operational excellence, and uphold CDS's reputation as an industry leader. The Event Manager is also tasked with monitoring event performance metrics and collaborating with district management to optimize strategies and achieve defined revenue and income objectives. Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Two to four years of related experience in retail, hospitality, or food environments
  • Detail oriented with excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead well performing teams
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement
  • Able to coach and counsel employees, take correct measures as needs
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a client-side, branded, consumer-packaged goods company or a combination of supplier-side and client-side experience
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize with minimal supervision
  • Supervising skills including delegating responsibility, training, and evaluating performance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes in projects or business environment
  • Track record of building and maintaining customer or client relationships
  • Ability to direct, lead, and develop people
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, and web browsers
  • NEHA Professional Food Handler Certification required

Job Duties

  • Recruit, train and hire part-time staff
  • Oversee product preparation and presentation, including food safety and sanitation
  • Train Product Demonstrators in demonstration preparation and excellent customer services
  • Communicate between multiple managers, vendors and demonstrators
  • Participate in new location grand openings as required
  • Direct all activities engaged in successful events, promotion and sales of vendor products
  • Communicate strategies and tactics to achieve sales, service and operational excellence
