With a focus on innovation and operational excellence, the company continually invests in technology and workforce development to maintain its position as an industry leader. Sysco’s culture emphasizes safety, teamwork, and community involvement, creating a work environment that respects employee contributions and promotes growth.

The role of Delivery Driver at Sysco is a vital position within the company’s transportation and logistics operations. This role involves running daily delivery routes with multiple stops, where the driver is responsible for loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading products at each designated location according to instructions from the Transportation Department Manager. This position operates within a cross-dock system, requiring the driver to efficiently pick up a loaded truck at a designated loading dock following nightly deliveries, execute the delivery route, and return the empty truck to the assigned lot. The responsibilities also include occasional assistance with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other tasks as assigned by management.

This position demands physical stamina and attention to safety and customer service. Drivers often lift products weighing between 40 to 100 pounds and navigate various environments, including ramps, stairs, docks, and all weather conditions. The job requires compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, completion of pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and adherence to Sysco’s safety policies. Drivers also serve as frontline representatives with customers, ensuring delivery accuracy, handling signatures, resolving discrepancies, and managing any customer complaints professionally and courteously.

To qualify for this role, candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL), and have a driving record meeting company standards. Strong English communication skills are necessary to understand traffic signs, converse with the public, and complete required reporting. Experience operating hand trucks or hand carts and familiarity with food and beverage delivery are preferred but not mandatory. Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays is required to meet business demands.

Overall, the Delivery Driver position at Sysco offers an opportunity to join a respected company with a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
