This particular role involves safely operating heavy-duty trucks to carry out assigned duties on swing routes across various environments, including residential, commercial, and construction settings. The job’s core focus is on driving commercial vehicles while adhering to all safety regulations such as OSHA and DOT standards, along with company policies for maintaining clean and safe fleets. Drivers are expected to conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues for resolution to maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability. Communication and cooperation with Route Managers and Dispatchers are key elements of the role to ensure route efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include handling customer requests, maintaining vehicle safety, managing operational documentation, and following established service machine protocols to address any obstacles encountered during routes. Job Requirements

  • Two years operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving experience within the last seven years
  • Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
  • Successfully complete pre-employment screening including drug screen and physical
  • CDL-Class B

Job Qualifications

  • Two years operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving experience within the last seven years
  • Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
  • Successfully complete pre-employment screening including drug screen and physical
  • CDL-Class B
  • High school diploma or G.E.D (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and company expectations for the fleet
  • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using standard DVIR
  • Note all issues on DVIR form for corrective review or repair
  • Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service
  • Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager
  • Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts
  • Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed
  • Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
  • Notify Dispatch or Route Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems that arise on the route
  • Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager
  • Completely dump all containers and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris
  • Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed
  • Position containers on the customer’s property ensuring lids are properly replaced, containers upright, and no blockage of driveway entrances or traffic
  • Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation at the end of the route
