The available role is for a Commercial Driver who will be responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks equipped with various load lift attachments depending on the business line. This full-time position involves transporting waste or recyclable materials to designated disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities upon reaching legal load capacity. The Commercial Driver must skillfully maneuver containers, some weighing over 1,000 pounds, and navigate through high-traffic, congested roads, residential neighborhoods, alleys, and lots with precision and safety. Different categories within the driver position include residential drivers, roll-off drivers, and drivers using front, side, or rear-load trucks. The role requires performance of various critical and essential truck operations, such as pre-and post-trip inspections, adherence to safety rules, documentation, and effective communication with operations managers and dispatch teams. This position typically starts early in the morning with a Monday to Friday schedule, beginning at 6:00 AM. The starting pay rate is $20 per hour, with adjustments based on experience. Job Requirements

  • Must have at least 1 year experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving within last 7 years
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
  • Must have CDL-Class A or CDL-Class B Commercial Driver License with air-brake endorsement upon hire

Job Qualifications

  • 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years
  • Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
  • CDL-Class A Commercial Driver License with air-brake endorsement upon hire or CDL-Class B Commercial Driver License with air-brake endorsement upon hire
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Job Duties

  • Operates vehicle in accordance with waste management safety and life critical rules, OSHA and DOT requirements as well as local, state and federal laws
  • Performs pre and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks using standard driver vehicle inspection report
  • Immediately reports unsafe situations or service-related issues to operations manager or dispatch
  • Attends and participates in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required
  • Works closely with operations manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices
  • Notifies operations manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
  • Reports service interruptions including impassable streets, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards
  • Communicates customer requests to operations manager or dispatch
  • Completely dumps all receptacles and leaves customer locations clean
  • Follows route assignments and completes end-of-day documentation and check-out process
  • Assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs
