Drivers are tasked with transporting waste materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once the trucks reach legal load capacity. Depending on the classification, drivers specialize as Commercial Drivers, Residential Drivers, or Roll-off Drivers who handle specific types of waste or recyclable materials with precision and care.

The role demands a high level of responsibility, ensuring the safe operation of vehicles compliant with safety regulations such as OSHA and DOT, conducting pre-and post-trip inspections, and maintaining clear communication with operations management to enhance route efficiency and address any safety concerns or service interruptions. Job Requirements

Minimum one year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or one year equivalent military driving within the last seven years
Must be at least eighteen years of age and legally eligible to work in the country of employment
Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
Successful completion of pre-employment screening including drug screening and physical examination
Possession of a Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with air-brake endorsement or Class B with air-brake endorsement

Job Qualifications

One year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or one year equivalent military driving within the last seven years
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical
Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with an air-brake endorsement or Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with an air-brake endorsement
High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

Job Duties

Operate vehicles in accordance with WM safety and life critical rules, OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws
Perform pre and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and document checks utilizing the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR)
Immediately report all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch
Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by WM or directed by the Route Manager
Work closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices
Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
Notify Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service or potential safety hazards
Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch
Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer's location clean and free of debris
Follow route assignments as directed and complete end-of-day documentation and check-out process
Perform all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs
