Job Description
Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a prominent U.S. supplier specializing in industrial, medical, and specialty gases alongside hardgoods and related products. As one of the largest suppliers in the United States for safety products, ammonia products, and process chemicals, Airgas commands a significant presence within the industry. With a diverse workforce of 18,000 associates, Airgas nurtures a culture grounded in safety, sustainability, customer success, and continuous innovation. The company empowers its employees to voice ideas, take initiatives, and make decisions that enhance performance and contribute to shared goals.
Airgas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader serving over four million customers and patients across 60 countries. Air Liquide employs approximately 66,500 individuals worldwide and holds a reputation for excellence in gases, technologies, and industrial and healthcare services. This affiliation provides Airgas with the resources and stability of a global organization while allowing autonomy to innovate within its markets.
The CDL Truck Driver position is an exciting opportunity based in Atlanta, GA, specifically for a safety-focused tanker driver within the Airgas National Carbonation (ANC) division. ANC concentrates on delivering bulk CO2 (carbon dioxide) required for beverage carbonation at a variety of venues including restaurants, bars, craft breweries, fast-food outlets, and entertainment locations. This role is a critical frontline position ensuring timely and safe delivery of cryogenic CO2 to support clients’ carbonation systems.
As a Bulk CO2 Driver, you will operate modern, automatic transmission cabs in a slip-seat system — meaning drivers alternate vehicles efficiently to maximize operational uptime. The role typically involves making 13 or more deliveries daily within a 150-mile radius around Atlanta, primarily supplying Microbulk tanks onsite. This job offers a consistent Sunday-to-Thursday schedule starting at either 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM, with opportunities for overtime, providing a stable and predictable work-life balance.
Compensation for this role is competitive at $28.00 per hour. Airgas offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees' whole lives. This includes health benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, and tuition assistance. Additionally, the company supports family life with up to 14 weeks of paid childbirth benefit and provides paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave. Remarkably, benefits kick in after just 30 days of employment, emphasizing Airgas’s commitment to employee well-being.
Working at Airgas means joining a culture that honors and values diversity and inclusion, embracing varied backgrounds and perspectives to foster innovation and excellence. The company is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, actively seeking to build a welcoming environment where all employees can thrive regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or veteran status. Reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities are available, ensuring equitable access throughout the hiring process and employment.
This role suits experienced CDL Class A or B drivers holding Tanker, HAZMAT, and Airbrake endorsements, who are safety-conscious and have maintained solid driving records. Candidates must have at least one year of recent driving experience or a recent trucking school certificate and meet health and licensing standards. While prior CO2 or specialty gas experience is a plus, Airgas provides comprehensive training for new hires.
Joining Airgas as a Bulk CO2 Driver means becoming an integral part of a team dedicated to delivering essential products sustainably and safely. The position offers not only competitive pay and benefits but also the opportunity for career growth within a market leader. If you value safety, reliability, and contributing to a company that respects your individuality and fosters professional development, this role offers an exceptional career path in the logistics and transportation industry.
