The role of Driver, Shuttle at Core-Mark is a crucial position that directly supports the company’s operations by ensuring the timely and safe transportation of trailers between warehouse locations and domicile or shuttle yards. This position is integral to maintaining efficient logistics and supply chain processes, facilitating the continuous flow of goods essential for the business and its customers. Drivers in this role operate tandem trailers, tractor trailers, and straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $70,000 annually. The scheduled working hours are Sunday night through Thursday night, from 10:00 pm until approximately 7:00 am. The Driver, Shuttle is responsible for performing essential tasks such as safety checks on vehicles and trailers, reporting safety issues or required repairs, and ensuring all freight is safely loaded and secured. The driver also handles necessary paperwork for each route, performs hook and unhook procedures following safety guidelines, parks equipment properly, and manages damaged goods and customer returns. Core-Mark emphasizes compliance with federal, state, and company guidelines, including maintaining accurate records of driving hours and conducting daily equipment inspections. This role demands physical capability, including hand-lifting and using equipment to move or stack product cases, typically weighing between 60 to 90 pounds depending on location.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- 12+ months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL Class A
- Must be 21 years of age
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
- Pass pre-employment drug test
- Pass road test
- Valid current DOT health card and/or able to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheeler, lift gate to move and/or stack product cases/freight
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately reports all safety hazards
- Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Ensures all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available to driver upon dispatch
- Drives and delivers trailers according to predetermined route schedule
- Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines
- Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas
- Ensures all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured
- Collects and secures damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer to bring back to driver check-in at base facility and complete necessary paperwork
- Unloads all equipment, materials and removes trash from trailers as required
- Completes daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
