The position of Driver, Hourly CDL-A at Core-Mark is a full-time role designed for skilled commercial drivers who play a critical role in supporting America's food distribution system. Drivers enjoy competitive earnings, with annual salaries ranging between $70,000 and $75,000, alongside a $7,000 sign-on bonus. The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule, with dispatch typically occurring between 2 pm and 7 pm, providing a balanced work-life structure. Drivers are responsible for operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on various routes including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive and drop routes. Their primary mission is to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products efficiently, safely, and in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Drivers must adhere strictly to DOT regulations as well as company safe driving policies, promptly report any hazards, verify freight loading and safety, and accurately complete all paperwork associated with deliveries. Deliveries must be conducted according to predetermined route schedules, including the unloading and placement of items into designated customer storage areas. Damage control procedures, customer verification, and proper collection methods for payments are integral parts of the day-to-day duties. Additionally, drivers handle returns, secure trailers, maintain cleanliness of vehicles and dock areas, and fulfill all documentation requirements including daily hours of service logs in accordance with federal and state mandates.
