The role of Shuttle Driver at E.A. Sween is a vital position that extends beyond just driving. This hands-on, active role requires delivering fresh food products safely and on time along designated routes while engaging in various duties that support warehouse operations and delivery logistics. The driver is responsible for using technology such as electronic tablets to record deliveries accurately, managing trays by collecting empties, and maintaining cleanliness and safety of the delivery truck. The position requires flexible hours including weekends and holidays and offers a competitive hourly wage of $29.00, consistent with the company's internal compensation framework.

The ideal candidate for this role is reliable, efficient, and committed to providing exceptional service. They must demonstrate strong navigation skills using GPS and written directions, the physical ability to load and unload heavy items repeatedly, and capability to operate a 24-28 foot straight box truck safely. In addition to driving duties, the Shuttle Driver is involved in performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any issues, and adhering to all safety protocols. This position demands excellent customer service skills, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with warehouse temperatures ranging from 38 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 or older
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence
  • 3 or more years of route delivery driving experience with box truck
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly
  • Ability to push or pull up to 300 lbs with a four-wheel dolly
  • Proficient in English spoken and written
  • Comfortable working in 38 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit warehouse temps
  • Ability to perform frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and reaching
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Pass DOT physical
  • Pass drug screen
  • Pass physical and lifting assessment
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Clean driving record with minimal accidents or tickets in past 3 years
  • No DUIs in past 5 years

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in route delivery driving and backing with a box truck
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly and push/pull up to 300 lbs using a dolly
  • Proficient in English both spoken and written
  • Comfortable working in warehouse temperatures ranging from 38 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit and all outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to perform frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and reaching
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, nighttime, fast-paced environment
  • Must pass DOT physical, drug screen, physical/lifting assessment, criminal background check, and MVR with a clean driving record

Job Duties

  • Deliver fresh food products to convenience stores safely and on time
  • Utilize written and GPS directions to navigate assigned routes efficiently
  • Operate an electronic tablet to record delivery quantities and complete store check-ins
  • Collect empty trays from stores during deliveries
  • Participate in training sessions, safety courses, and meetings
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and report issues
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper set points on delivery trucks
  • Load and unload trucks in warehouse settings
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service
  • Complete and submit DOT logs and required paperwork accurately and timely
