Job Description
SP+, a Metropolis company, is a leading artificial intelligence company specializing in real-world applications through innovative computer vision technology. Our breakthrough solution enables checkout-free parking experiences, allowing customers to drive in and drive out seamlessly without the need for tickets, parking machines, apps, or credit cards. This approach significantly enhances convenience and transforms the parking industry, making it more efficient and user-friendly.
As the largest parking network in North America, SP+ powers mobility at over 4,000 locations across the United States, Canada, and Europe, supported by a workforce of more than 23,000 employees. We are at the forefront of reinventing the parking experience, recognizing its importance, ubiquity, and impact on daily life. As we evolve, our mission extends beyond parking to powering checkout-free experiences in various everyday environments, aiming to save people time and improve the quality of their daily lives.
The SP+ Shuttle Driver DOT position plays a critical role in supporting our commitment to exceptional service and seamless transportation. The shuttle driver is responsible for the safe and proper operation of shuttle buses, ensuring that passengers are transported efficiently, safely, and comfortably to their destinations. This role demands professionalism, excellent customer service skills, and strict adherence to safety regulations.
The shuttle driver goes above and beyond in delivering a superior client and customer experience, which includes answering questions, providing city directions, and ensuring every interaction is positive and memorable. Responsibilities include conducting vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness inside the shuttle bus, fueling vehicles, logging trip counts, and assisting disabled passengers. Reliability is crucial, as drivers must be punctual, adhere to uniform guidelines, and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license at all times during duty.
Compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations is mandatory. Therefore, drivers are required to hold and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A, B, or C with Passenger Endorsement and possess a current DOT Medical Card. The role also involves reporting any accidents, safety hazards, or other unusual occurrences promptly to the facility manager. Communication with the garage office regarding conditions such as debris or oil spills is also part of the job responsibilities. The shuttle driver may be called upon to substitute for cashiers or valets if authorized and must have thorough knowledge of the local area, major streets, landmarks, and freeways to assist customers effectively.
Candidates should demonstrate an ability to assist customers with luggage and other travel items when applicable, particularly at airport locations. The role supports the facility manager by assisting with other duties as needed, contributing to the overall success of the facility.
This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $21.10 to $22.30, reflecting the importance of the role within the company. SP+ is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering diversity and inclusion while providing generous benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, disability coverage, life and accident insurance, 401k, and paid time off. We aim to create a culture of respect and opportunity for employees to grow their careers within a supportive and innovative environment.
