The role of Service Technician at USS is pivotal to the company’s operations. This full-time position involves the operation of a company service truck to visit various locations and perform critical servicing, pumping, and cleaning of portable restrooms and holding tanks. As the heart of the business, the Service Technician ensures that customers receive reliable and exemplary service, embodying the company’s standards. The technician must comply with company and Department of Transportation (DOT) safety standards, perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving heavy items, and engage in flexible, client-focused interactions to adapt to changing service demands. Job Requirements

Minimum two years of commercial driving experience
Valid driver license (CDL or non-commercial)
Ability to sit while driving and stand while servicing products
Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls
Ability to repeat the same movements
Visual acuity to see details at various distances
Clear speech to communicate with customers
Ability to understand spoken communication
Ability to hear and distinguish sounds
Capacity to walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion
Ability to enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs from waist to shoulders
Ability to lift 30 lbs from floor to head
Capacity to crouch and squat
Ability to push and pull 100 lbs horizontally

Job Qualifications

Minimum two years of commercial driving experience
Valid driver license (CDL or non-commercial)
Excellent time management, customer service and communication skills
Strong problem-solving and decision making skills

Job Duties

Perform basic service truck driving functions in accordance with USS and DOT requirements
Perform all work duties in a safe manner in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards to ensure no accidents or injuries
Perform duties by sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
lift/push between 50 and 150 lbs. on a frequent basis during work shift
Conduct portable toilets servicing to USS 8 point service standard
Perform customer service interaction when on customer work sites to ensure they are getting the services completed to their standard
Be flexible in order to meet customer needs when routes need to be adjusted or changed
Provide routing feedback to Operations Manager/Supervisor/Coordinator to be most efficient and give the customer the best service possible
Strategically plan for customer needs by discussing their portable toilet requirements to satisfy current and future demands
