The CDL Route Driver position in Wilmington, NC, offers a unique opportunity to be part of this vibrant company culture. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, starting at 6 a.m., and ensures drivers can return home daily. The CDL Route Driver is entrusted with the crucial responsibility of safely transporting compressed gas cylinders between locations. This task requires meticulous management of vehicle operations, including loading and unloading, adherence to all safety protocols concerning hazardous materials, and thorough vehicle inspections to uphold safety standards. The role also demands excellent customer service skills since drivers collect empty cylinders and address customer inquiries, representing the company professionally in all interactions. Additionally, the position requires operational knowledge of warehouse equipment like forklifts.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- class B CDL
- must have HAZMAT endorsement or be able to obtain the endorsement within 60 days of being hired
- successful completion of Airgas background and motor vehicle check
- DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required
- ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs
- willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures
- ability to maintain a drug-free workplace
- adherence to safety regulations and policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- forklift experience
- touch freight delivery experience
Job Duties
- Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes
- collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure complete satisfaction
- record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures
- handle the loading and unloading of all materials
- conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections noting any issues to ensure full safety compliance and maintain vehicle condition
- maintain a professional appearance and serve as a representative of the company during all deliveries
