Job Description

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is one of the leading suppliers in the United States for industrial, medical, and specialty gases. Additionally, the company offers an extensive range of hardgoods and related products, serving a diverse market that includes safety products, ammonia products, and process chemicals. With over 18,000 associates, Airgas prides itself on fostering a culture defined by safety, innovation, and customer success. The company is known for empowering its employees to share ideas and take initiative, ensuring everyone plays a significant role in delivering products sustainably and efficiently. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide—a global leader in gases and related technologies—Airgas benefits from a worldwide presence in 60 countries with approximately 66,500 employees, serving more than 4 million customers and patients.

Airgas is currently hiring a CDL Route Driver based in Indianapolis, Indiana, within their Airgas Healthcare division focusing on filling medical products. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday with a workday starting at 6 am, offering employees the benefit of returning home daily. The role encompasses the responsible and safe transportation of compressed gas cylinders and products along designated routes, ensuring all deliveries comply with safety regulations and company procedures. The CDL Route Driver will manage vehicle operation, customer service, loading and unloading, as well as meticulous documentation of deliveries and pickups. Given the hazardous nature of the materials involved, adherence to all safety and regulatory protocols—including hazardous material safety standards—is critical.

This position is key to maintaining Airgas’s reputation for reliable, efficient service with professionalism at every customer touchpoint. The CDL Route Driver is expected to perform vehicle safety inspections pre- and post-trip and manage warehouse equipment such as forklifts as necessary. This role is suited for candidates holding a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire. Airgas offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, 401(k) retirement plans with company match, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, tuition assistance, and parental leave. The company also supports a drug-free workplace and strongly promotes diversity and inclusion within its workforce. Employees can expect a supportive work environment that values their individuality and contributions towards the collective success of the organization.
