Employing over 18,000 associates, the company fosters a dynamic culture that encourages diversity, initiative, and sustainability. Airgas operates as a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a globally recognized leader in gases, technologies, and services for both industry and healthcare sectors. Present in 60 countries and serving more than 4 million customers and patients, Air Liquide reinforces Airgas’s position as a trusted supplier and employer in the marketplace.

The CDL Route Driver position based in Richmond, VA, is integral to the company's operational success. This full-time Monday through Friday role, beginning at 6 am with daily home returns, involves the safe and efficient transportation of compressed and liquid gas cylinders as well as hard goods along assigned routes. The driver will operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and protocols surrounding hazardous materials. Responsibilities include the loading and unloading of products, meticulous documentation of deliveries and pickups, and fostering professional relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and service excellence.

Working at Airgas means benefiting from a comprehensive suite of employment advantages, designed to support the employee’s overall wellbeing and professional growth. Employees enjoy a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave. These benefits reflect Airgas's commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace, where employees are respected and valued for their unique contributions.

This role demands a strong adherence to safety compliance, both in vehicle maintenance and the handling of hazardous materials, reinforcing Airgas’s dedication to the highest standards of operational safety. The position also requires physical capability to handle lifting weights between 25 to over 100 pounds, readiness to work outdoors under varying weather conditions, and the ability to maintain a drug-free work environment. Candidates will undergo background checks, motor vehicle checks, and DOT Clearinghouse verification to meet compliance standards.

Joining Airgas means becoming part of a diverse, inclusive, and innovation-driven environment that not only values employee differences but also actively promotes equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or veteran status.
