Located in Charlotte, NC at the Old Dowd Road branch and operating as a retail shop, Airgas is seeking a dedicated CDL Route Driver. This full-time, Monday through Friday position starts early at 6 am, with the benefit of returning home daily. The CDL Route Driver role involves the safe and efficient transportation, loading, and unloading of compressed gas cylinders between Airgas locations. The driver will operate Class B Hazmat vehicles carrying compressed and liquid gas cylinders as well as hard goods along specified routes. Meticulous documentation and vehicle inspections must be maintained to comply with safety standards and hazardous material regulations. The position also emphasizes high-quality customer service, including the collection of empty cylinders and addressing inquiries to ensure customer satisfaction. The route driver must use warehouse equipment like forklifts and uphold professionalism as an Airgas representative during deliveries. Additionally, the role requires adherence to all safety protocols and regulations concerning hazardous materials.

This career opportunity invites candidates who are at least 21 years old with a Class B CDL and Hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire. Experience with forklift operation and touch freight delivery is advantageous. Physical demands include lifting weights ranging from 25 to over 100 pounds and working in variable outdoor weather conditions.
