Job Description

FreshPoint is a prominent food distribution company that operates under the Sysco umbrella, a global leader in selling, marketing, and distributing food products to restaurants, healthcare, and educational facilities. With a deep commitment to food service excellence, FreshPoint has established itself as a critical link in the food supply chain, serving a broad range of customers with high-quality produce and exceptional service. The company is known for its innovative approach to distribution logistics, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the freshness and quality of its products. Based in Avon, MA, FreshPoint is seeking local CDL delivery drivers to join their dynamic team. These positions offer an excellent opportunity to become part of a company that values growth, dedication, and customer service. FreshPoint focuses on creating an environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally.

The Local CDL Delivery Driver role is a full-time position that provides home daily routes, allowing drivers the advantage of returning home every day after completing their shifts. The role offers an attractive annual earning potential up to $92,000, depending on performance and experience, along with comprehensive benefits. This opportunity is available for candidates holding either a CDL-A or CDL-B license. Drivers in this role will be responsible for running routes efficiently with frequent stops to deliver and unload fresh food products to customers. They will be expected to load their packages onto hand trucks and unload products at each stop in the sequence designated by the Transportation Department Manager. Drivers operate the cross-dock model by picking up loaded trucks from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and returning empty trucks to the lot at the route's completion.

Beyond the physical demands of delivering product, this role requires excellent customer service skills, as drivers interact directly with customers to verify deliveries and obtain necessary signatures. Drivers must also maintain accurate communication with management regarding any discrepancies or issues with invoices or product returns. The job entails adherence to Department of Transportation regulations and company policies related to pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles. Typical shifts are 10 hours long, starting early in the morning between midnight and 3 a.m., allowing drivers to be home in time for dinner. This role is ideal for candidates looking for a stable career with room for growth, as FreshPoint promotes from within and offers ongoing training and leadership development programs. The company also provides incentive earning potential, paid vacation and holidays, comprehensive healthcare options, retirement benefits, and much more. For individuals passionate about driving and customer service, FreshPoint offers a rewarding career pathway with the opportunity to make a significant impact in the food distribution industry.
