The Porter role at Matthews Motors is an essential position within the company's operations team. This full-time role primarily supports the sales and service departments by ensuring smooth transportation and delivery of trailer units. Porters are responsible for retrieving and returning trailer units that are ready for maintenance or customer use, as well as moving trailers to various designated locations on the property. Maintaining an organized parking lot is a critical responsibility to facilitate efficient traffic flow around the facility. Additionally, the Porter maintains and updates inventory records for all trailers parked on the premises, ensuring accuracy and easy access to information. This position requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and the physical capability to manage lifting and moving tasks, contributing to the overall functionality of Matthews Motors' logistics and service operations. Travel is a significant aspect of this role, with 60-80 percent of the work involving local and out-of-town trips. The work environment is a blend of office settings and outdoor or shop areas, with varying noise levels and physical demands. Job Duties
- Provides delivery and transportation support for sales operations
- Retrieve/Return trailer unit(s) that are ready to be worked on
- Move trailer around for customers to different locations
- Park trailers either in the shop and/or in an open space on property
- Ensure the parking lot is organized allowing the flow of traffic to be functional
- Maintain and update the inventory of trailer units parked on property
- Perform other duties as assigned
